thank you for stopping by my place earlier and “liking” a post of mine. That really means a lot.
I took a moment to look around your place here and I really enjoyed your photos. I think the series I like most would be the Lili-series on the top, but I really like that b&w of the baby foot and the hand towards the bottom of the page too.
The only thing I found a bit disruptive was the large water mark across all of your photos. I understand the concept of protecting your art and I also know that putting a small watermark on the edge of a photo isn’t safe enough because I can be cropped out, but maybe you could lighten it up a bit at least (or just put a copyright disclaimer on the side and risk it).
Anyways, this is only my 2 cents, so no need to listen to them.
Hi Thanks for your feedback, I agree about the watermark but wasn’t sure what other way i could insure that the photos weren’t being used by others. You have some great shots as well, can really feel the emotion in them, keep up the good work 🙂
Hmmm I’m not sure, but I think I remember the watermark being lighter in one of the photos compared to the rest. That’s good enough. It’s not about not seeing it (imo) it’s more about it not being the first thing you see, you know distracting from your art. 🙂
Thanks for the compliment, however those are not my photos – I take them from Flickr and combine them with a quote. I do link back to the artist on Flickr (their stream) and the original photo taken by the artist. You should really take the time to check some of them out if you liked the picture I chose. B.t.w. if you have a b&w shot of a person (not just portrait btw) and if you would care for the idea, I would be happy to feature it as one of daily posts (no pressure) 🙂
I enjoy your perspective on the world. Particularly with the inanimate objects. Like the ropes, chains, barbs etc. For some reason those seem to bring out an emotive context much more than say the scenery. Nice stuff. I look forward to seeing more.
Thanks for visiting my blog, and I’m glad you enjoy viewing my shots. Hopefully I will continue to have shots that interest you. I like to try get as many shots as I can that are that bit different and trigger off the imagination in some way!
Hi Aisling – I left a comment on your waterfall picture. You have some real talent. Thank you again for stopping by on my blog and leaving some love. my older girl is a photographer as well, she’s working mostly with people and bands/musicians right now but shes got a great eye. Just like you. Love your pictures, The carnation bud stands out to me as well as the waterfall one. Stunning. Take care and I look forward to seeing more of your work. Donna
thanks for the like. your shots are fantastic! I especially like your macro shots of the flowers. I’m interested in macro too, but its quite tricky. any advice? and also, whats the best way to put a watermark on your pics?

Oh, my, Aisling, I am so glad you clicked “like” on my Wednesday WOWflower post today! I just checked out your most recent posts and they are WONDERful! The tower immediately impressed me, and then such beauty in the flowers, scenery, horses, I could go on and on. They all WOWed me. More than any digital technique. Your passion is evident in each photo. If this is the work of a hobbyist, can’t wait to see your professional self!
Aisling, first, THANKS for visiting my “punny” photoblog and leaving a “like.” Additional comments:
!. If I hadn’t started with your “About” page, I never would have believed that you are an amateur photographer. Your photos are top-notch professional, and it’s hard to believe that you don’t have your own studio and clients.
2. Your watermark is far less noticeable than most.
3. I really like the fact that each post showcases one photo but gives thumbnails of other shots of the same subject.
4. Your flower shots are GORGEOUS! (Please check out my Flickr photos of my extensive streptocarpus collection which I grow under lights: http://www.flickr.com/photos/my_streps/ )
5. And, last but not least, I subscribe to about 15 photographers’ blogs and promised myself that I would have to end this addiction, but you’ve already got me hooked. (I have each photographer’s weekly posts arrive as one archive e-mail on Sat. morning, when I have an entire weekend to savor the photos.)
Thanks for stopping by my little blog. Like you, photography is just a hobby for me. You have some amazing photos that show a great passion and knowledge of your art.

Hi Aisling! First of all, thank you so much for visiting my site. It inspires me to see fellow photography enthusiasts blogging and see their work online. Hi Aisling, thanks for liking my recent post, I always love it when someone new stops by! I’ve had a look through your photos and I love them, particularly the landscape pictures. I miss Ireland loads and its always heartwarming to look at photos of the amazing landscape there – so thank you!
Thanks for liking my post on Nature at http://eddiemyers.wordpress.com. You have many very nice photos. I love seeing the pictures of the countryside around you and seeing how a local person views their community instead of the usual travel brochure pictures I normally see. It’s great that you are experimenting with so many types of shots. It is a great way to learn. Local photography clubs around where you live are another great place to learn and pick up some tips to help you continue to build your skill level.
Great shots! How did you do your header? That’s sooo cool!? And any advice on how to protect my shots with a watermark or copyright would be of great help to me. I need to figure out how to do this. Thanks.
Carol
