The peom by William Wordsworth “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” is also known as Daffodils or The Daffodils.
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
They say “Red sky at night; shepherds delight, Red sky in the morning; shepherds warning”
I’m not quite sure what they say for an orange sky but I’m sure it’s something along the same lines. These are a little bit different with the point of focus on the bare trees rather than on the windmills, I feel it gives the shots a different feel. Hope you like them…. Taken in Commauns, Co. Mayo, Ireland.
Originally, orange lilies meant disdain, hatred and wealth. Perhaps that may sound strange but in ancient times, there were wealthy families that were cruel to poor families and many of these rich families had orange lilies in their gardens. People started associating the lilies with how much they hated the nasty, wealthy folks. With time, the perception of orange lilies began changing because the orange lily spread all over the world via trade routes.
